What is Digital File Transfer?
Digital File Transfer is the process of electronically sending a “.stl” file to DynaFlex.
What is a “.stl” file?
“.stl” is a file extension that stands for Stereolithography. This is the file type that can be produced by orthodontic scanners.
Can I send my .stl file to DynaFlex for appliance fabrication?
Yes.
Which orthodontic scanners can DynaFlex currently accept .stl files from?
iTero, 3Shape, MotionView.
How long does it take for DynaFlex to print your digital model?
Your digital model can be printed within 24 hours.
What appliances can be made from my digital scan?
Any appliance that you see in the 2012 DynaFlex Catalog can be made from your digital scan.
How do I send my .stl file to DynaFlex?
Your files are sent to DynaFlex through a secure file portal that you are give a username and password to.
How do I export my .stl files from my scanners software?
There is documentation under the Digital File Transfer section for the iTero unit. For other scanners you will need to contatct the manufacturer or distirbutor.
How much does it cost to print a model?
To print a working model arch (enough anatomy to build your appliance) it is $17.50. To print a study model (ABO base added to your scanned model) it is $60.00 for the set.
What is the quickest time frame that I can get my appliance back to me?
Depending on the appliance, it can take as little as a week to get your case returned to you.
