DynaFlex® Dorsal Appliance
Originally designed as a nighttime TMD splint, the Dorsal Appliance has evolved into one of the most popular choices for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. The two piece construction allows for patient comfort and lateral jaw movement. The Dorsal fins on the mandibular appliance interface with inclines built into the buccal of the upper appliance to dictate a specific mandibular position. The appliance is traditionally fabricated with adjustable screws in the maxillary appliance to allow for further mandibular advancement. This appliance can be fabricated in a variety of materials including acrylic, dual laminate or thermal splint material.

Custom Milled
With our new high precision 5 Axis milling machine, we can create an extremely accurate, crystal clear and impressively strong device. We utilize the newest CAD/CAM digital software and highly trained technicians to ensure an accurate fit and silky smooth finish to your milled devices. The new milled line of OSA devices are currently available in the Adjustable Herbst and DynaFlex Dorsal® and includes a 3 Year Warranty.
Comfort Fit
The DynaFlex Dorsal is constructed from our new “comfort fit” material. Many of our doctors are reporting improved night time wear with the new comfort fit design. The soft inner lining provides superior night time retention. The outer durable acrylic covering is designed for long lasting wear. The great news . . . the comfort fit design can be requested at no additional charge.

The device is fabricated with adjustable screws in the maxillary appliance to allow for further mandibular advancement.
Accu-Fit
Fits first time, every time! The Accu-Fit design is the newest device added to the Dorsal family of sleep appliances for treating patients with sleep apnea. The unique custom thermal acrylic liner allows the appliance to fit at the first delivery appointment without acrylic or wire adjustments. The Accu-Fit design is ideal for patients who will require future dental work (restorations, crowns or bridges). The new design eliminates costly remakes after dental work. The thermal acrylic liner is remolded in hot water (160 degrees) to fit the patient’s arch after dental restorations.

Secure Lock Design
No more hooks and elastics! The Dorsal AirPlus™ eliminates the cost of adding hooks and the hassle of attaching elastics for the patient. The reversed wing feature enhances airway opening, the binding effect secures the mandibular bite position during sleep and ensures that the lower jaw does not rotate down and back.
Shortened Lingual Acrylic (SLA)
SLA provides maximum tongue space and ultimate patient comfort. The SLA feature eliminates bulky lingual acrylic, gaining precious tongue space and air volume for the patient.
DynaFlex Dorsal AirPlus Delivery – Sandwich Method
Since the Dorsal AirPlus does not follow the patients arc of closure, the easiest way to deliver this device is the “sandwich” delivery method. This is similar to how the TAP devices are inserted by the patient. The upper and lower devices are held together like a sandwich and then inserted by the patient as one unit.
